What is a top batter bet in cricket?

A top batter bet picks which player makes the most runs for his team in an innings or match.

Example: Bet $10 on an opener at $4.50 to top-score. If he does, you get $45 back. If two players tie, most bookies split the payout.

Openers face the most balls, so they are often the shortest prices.

If your player is left out of the team, most bookies void the bet. If he plays but doesn't bat, the bet usually stands.

As of 5 October, the bookies keep about $5 of every $100 bet on who-wins bets across the games we track.
