What are disposals in AFL betting?

Disposals are a player's kicks plus handballs, and a disposals bet is on whether he gets more or fewer than a set number.

Example: Over 24.5 disposals at $1.85: bet $20, and if he gets 25 or more you get $37 back.

Midfielders get the most disposals, so their lines are the highest.

A role change on the day, like a tag, can cut a player's disposals a lot.

As of 5 October, the bookies keep about $7 of every $100 bet on player bets across the games we track.
