01  How it works

Reading the board

The whole game is the gap between what we think will happen and what the bookmaker is pricing. Here is how to read every column.

How to read today's UFC odds

Focus on the relationship between these four columns to evaluate whether a price is worth taking.

Field What it means How to use it
Odds Bookmaker price for the outcome in decimal and American formats. Lower odds imply higher chance; higher odds imply lower chance.
Implied Probability The win chance built into the bookmaker's odds (1 ÷ Decimal Odds). Use as the market baseline — this is what the bookmaker is pricing.
Model Probability Bet Better's estimated chance from Monte Carlo simulation and analytics. If model probability is meaningfully above implied probability, it can indicate value.
Prediction Model output direction for the market. Use alongside probabilities as context — not as a standalone guarantee.

UFC betting markets explained

These are the markets you will see in the odds table. Different bookmakers may label them slightly differently.

  • Moneyline: Who wins the bout outright, by any method. The most liquid UFC market.
  • Method of Victory: How a fighter wins — KO/TKO, Submission or Decision. Pays longer odds than the Moneyline when the finish is predictable.
  • Total Rounds: Over or under a set number of rounds. Sensitive to finishing rates, durability and cardio.
  • Fight props: Single-fight markets beyond the winner, such as Go the Distance, round betting and method combinations.

UFC Odds FAQ

What are UFC odds?

UFC odds are bookmaker prices that show how likely each outcome is in a market such as the moneyline, method of victory, total rounds, or fight props. The price is expressed as decimal odds in Australia — for example $1.90 — which implies a 52.6% probability. Lower odds mean a higher implied chance and a lower potential return; higher odds mean a lower implied chance and a higher potential return. The bookmaker builds a profit margin into the odds, so the sum of implied probabilities across all outcomes in a market always exceeds 100%.

What is the difference between model probability and implied probability?

Implied probability is the win chance built into the bookmaker's decimal odds, calculated as 1 divided by the decimal price. Model probability is Bet Better's independently estimated chance from Monte Carlo simulation and analytics. The difference between the two is the calculated edge — when model probability is meaningfully higher than implied probability, the market may be undervaluing the outcome, indicating potential value. For example, if the model gives a team a 60% chance but the odds imply 52%, the edge is +8%.

What is UFC Method of Victory betting?

Method of Victory betting settles on how a fighter wins, not just whether they win. You back a fighter to win by KO/TKO (strikes), Submission (a tap-out or technical submission), or Decision (the judges' scorecards). Because it fuses the winner with the finish, it pays far longer odds than the moneyline, and it often offers better value on clear stylistic mismatches — such as a power striker against a chin-vulnerable opponent, or a grappler against poor takedown defence.

What are UFC fight props?

UFC fight props are single-fight betting markets that go beyond the simple winner. Common examples include Go the Distance (yes/no on the fight reaching the final bell), round betting (naming the exact round of the finish), and method combinations (a specific fighter to win by a specific method). These markets are less liquid than the moneyline and total rounds, which means bookmakers sometimes price them with less precision — creating opportunities for bettors who track finishing tendencies and style matchups.

How often are UFC odds updated on this page?

The odds table refreshes continuously as bookmakers update their markets, so prices reflect the latest available data. Between rounds or before bookmakers open markets for upcoming games you may see no odds — this is normal and markets will appear again once the next round's lines are available. Because edge is calculated against live prices, the best practice is to check odds close to game time, not just when you first visit the page.

What does UFC Total Rounds (over/under) betting mean?

UFC Total Rounds betting is wagering on whether the fight lasts over or under a bookmaker's set line — for example, over/under 2.5 rounds. This market is driven by each fighter's finishing rate, chin durability, cardio, and pace, plus whether the bout is scheduled for three or five rounds. Total Rounds is one of the most model-friendly UFC markets because fight-length distributions are often more predictable than the winner itself.

How do I use UFC odds to find value bets?

The process is: estimate the true probability of each outcome independently (using a model, form analysis, or both), then compare your estimate to the bookmaker's implied probability from the odds. If your estimated probability is meaningfully higher than the implied probability, you have positive edge — indicating the bet offers more expected value than the price suggests. Over a large sample of positive-edge bets, you should profit regardless of short-term variance. The Bet Better model probability column on this page shows this comparison for you automatically.

Why do UFC odds change throughout the day?

UFC odds move in response to public betting volume, fight news, injury announcements, weigh-in results, and sharp money from professional bettors. When large amounts of money come in on one side, bookmakers shorten that side's price and lengthen the other to rebalance their liability. Late news such as a missed weight cut or a short-notice replacement typically causes the most significant single-day price movements, particularly in method and round markets. Refreshing before placing a bet ensures you are acting on the current price, not a stale one.
