NFL Betting Protocol v2.0

What is NFL Betting?
The world's most efficient market. Bets focus on game outcomes (Moneyline), margins (Spread), and player performance.
Primary Markets
Spread: Handicap (e.g., -7).
Moneyline: Winner.
Totals: Combined score.
Key Strategy
Respect "Key Numbers" (margins of 3 and 7) and track injury reports to capture value before lines move.

Market Mechanics

The NFL is the most efficient betting market in the world. Success requires capitalizing on Key Numbers (3, 7) and understanding how Injury Reports shift public perception vs. actual line value.

Moneyline (Outright)

The simplest wager: betting on the winner. Ties are extremely rare but possible (moneyline bets typically push in a tie unless a "Draw" line was offered).

> KC Chiefs: -180
> Buffalo Bills: +150
// Bet $180 on Chiefs to win $100.

Point Spread

The most popular NFL market. The "Key Numbers" of 3 and 7 are critical here, as many games end with these margins.

> Dallas Cowboys: -6.5 (-110)
> Philadelphia Eagles: +6.5 (-110)
// Cowboys must win by 7+ to cover.

Total Points (Over/Under)

Wagering on the combined score. Weather (wind specifically) is a massive factor for Totals bets.

Market Line
48.5
Result: 28-24
52 (OVER WINS)

Player Props (High Alpha)

Isolating individual player performance. This market allows for deep analysis of specific matchups (e.g., WR1 vs CB2).

Passing Yards QB aerial output.
Anytime TD Player scores a touchdown.
Receptions Total catches made.

Futures Markets

Long-term investments on season outcomes. Betting the Super Bowl winner in preseason offers higher risk but potentially massive reward.

> Super Bowl Winner: Bengals (+1200)
> MVP: Josh Allen (+800)
// Odds lock at time of bet.

System FAQ

What happens if a game goes to overtime?

For most standard bets (Moneyline, Spread, Total), overtime stats and scores COUNT towards the final result.

What is a Push?

If the final score lands exactly on the spread or total number (e.g., Spread is -3 and team wins by 3), the bet is a "push" and your money is refunded.
